Why home visits?

House call veterinarians offer many conveniences that traditional veterinary hospitals cannot. One of  the biggest of those is overcoming the fear and trauma that many dogs and cats experience when taken from their home in a car to a veterinary clinic. Many animals release pheromones (chemical scent signals) under traumatic conditions that linger in the air and may cause fear reactions in animals that detect them.

By examining your pet in its own home, where you pet may feel more secure, your mobile veterinarian can better evaluate behavior and conditions which may be caused or aggravated by the pet’s environment.

In addition, there is a lower risk of exposure to diseases that may be found in a veterinarian’s waiting room. This is especially important for a very young puppy or kitten. Preventing contact with viruses and harmful bacteria is also beneficial for very old pets that do not have strong immunity or for any dog or cat with a weakened immune system due to drugs, cancer or other diseases.
